Shihan Rick Donkel began his law enforcement career on August 15, 1975. Over the next 47 years, he served as a city police officer, a U.S. Army military policeman, a company police officer, and a county deputy sheriff before retiring from law enforcement at the end of 2022.
Within that career, Rick served 20 years on active duty in the U.S. Army Military Police, with assignments in criminal investigation, physical security, and Central and South America. He received the Joint Service Commendation Medal with “V” device for valor for leading his security team during Operation Just Cause in Panama.
